Note: This table provides estimates related to the global HIV/AIDS epidemic as of December 2010.  To calculate adult HIV prevalence, the estimated number of adults (15–49 years) living with HIV in 2009 was divided by the 2009 adult population. The estimated number of people living with HIV include all people with HIV infection, whether or not they have developed symptoms of AIDS, in 2009. The number of orphans due to AIDS reflects the estimated number of children (0–17 years) in 2009 who have lost one or both parents to AIDS.
