Tables: Detailed PEPFAR Program ResultsThe success of the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) is firmly rooted in a commitment to results. Through partnerships between the American people and the people of the countries in which we are privileged to serve - governments, non-governmental organizations including faith-based organizations and community-based organizations, and the private sector - we are building sustainable systems and empowering individuals, communities, and nations to battle HIV/AIDS.
Cultivating capacity to report on results fosters improvement in the quality of program data and strength of information systems. Evidence-based programming depends on strong data. The monitoring and evaluation of activities and results is helping to expand the knowledge base of the global HIV/AIDS community and support decision-making and policy implementation. PEPFAR's emphasis on results is part of a commitment to accountability which helps to develop good governance and democracy.
