The United States is proud to support the Caribbean Region in its leadership in the global HIV/AIDS response. Working closely with national governments, civil society, and other development partners, PEPFAR provides targeted technical assistance to maximize the quality, coverage, and impact of the national HIV/AIDS response in 11 countries – Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago.

While host country governments provide the majority of the resources in support of their national HIV/AIDS programs, PEPFAR continues to align investments with national priorities to reduce new infections and save lives, particularly among key and vulnerable populations. Specific priorities include

·         Scaling up combination prevention activities

·         Filling service delivery gaps

·         Investing in strategic information

·         Strengthening health systems

·         Increasing laboratory capacity
