PEPFAR is excited to announce the launch of the PEPFAR Dashboards for viewing PEPFAR data. The goal of the PEPFAR Dashboards is to enable all stakeholders, including U.S. citizens, civil society organizations, U.S. government agencies, donors, and host-country governments, to view and utilize PEPFAR planned budgets, program results, and expenditure analysis data in an accessible and easy-to-use format.
Transparency is a priority for PEPFAR and the PEPFAR Dashboards provide unprecedented access to all levels of program data and will illustrate the impact of PEPFAR programs. The PEPFAR Dashboards are under development and over the course of the next few months, additional planning budgets, results, and expenditure data, as well as other information and analyses will be accessible. Currently, three Dashboards are available:
The PEPFAR Planned Funding Dashboard consists of interactive maps and graphs that illustrate the planned budget levels approved each year in the PEPFAR Country Operational Plans (COP) and Region Operational Plans (ROP). A COP/ROP is the vehicle for documenting U.S. government annual investments and program activities in HIV/AIDS for each PEFPAR operating unit (country or region). It is the basis for approval of annual U.S. government bilateral HIV/AIDS funding in most countries. The COP/ROP also serves as the basis for Congressional notification, allocation, and tracking of budget and targets. It also functions as an annual work plan for PEPFAR-funded HIV/AIDS activities..
The interactive graphs in this Planned Funding dashboard show the details of the planned COP/ROP bilateral budgets as submitted by the PEPFAR country teams and approved by the U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator. They can be viewed in multiple ways including by year, country/region, implementing agency, general HIV program area, and/or PEPFAR budget code. The PEPFAR planned budgets data set can also be downloaded from the Dashboard.
The PEPFAR Program Impact Dashboard currently provides a view of the planned targets and realized achievements described in the annual COPs/ROPs and Annual Program Results (APR) respectively, for each of the high-level PEPFAR indicators. The APR documents progress among U.S. government program activities in HIV/AIDS, and is the basis for monitoring the achievements of annual U.S. government bilateral HIV/AIDS efforts. The APR data also serve as the basis for the Annual Reports to Congress on PEPFAR.
The interactive charts and maps in the PEPFAR Program Impact Dashboard can be filtered by operating unit, fiscal year, and indicator. The goal of this dashboard is to provide the indicator targets and results in a consolidated format that enables users to examine and track PEPFAR achievements in a standard and easy-to-view design. The PEPFAR targets and results dataset for this dashboard can also be downloaded.
The PEPFAR Expenditure Analysis Dashboard uses interactive graphs and maps to share the results from PEPFAR’s growing expenditure analysis data collection program, which began in 9 PEFPAR countries in 2012 and will expand to all PEFPAR operating units in 2014. Expenditure analysis data show what PEFPAR funds were used for in each country/region according to major and detailed cost categories. The dataset can be downloaded from the Expenditure Analysis Dashboard, and the interactive maps and graphs on the Dashboard allow users to filter and view these expenditure data by country/region, program area, major cost category, and detailed cost category.
