A supplement announcement has been published in the NIH guide entitled "Administrative Supplements for HIV/AIDS Implementation Science in PEPFAR Settings." The purpose of these supplements is to solicit HIV/AIDS-related proposals to help inform PEPFAR on effective and efficient approaches to HIV prevention, care and treatment, and integrated interventions against HIV/AIDS. The intent is to extend public health evaluation funding to a broader research community to encourage innovative research that is of interest to the greater PEPFAR community. The deadline for NIH supplement proposals was June 1, 2010.
The proposals must be accompanied by a signed letter of support from all sites involved in the research, including the collaborating institution(s) and PEPFAR funded implementation sites where data will be collected or the study will be implemented. PEPFAR country teams will be informed of study investigators applying for this funding. Studies should reflect the needs and priorities of the countries or regions in which they are to be conducted, but also produce results that are quantifiable and applicable to diverse circumstances and geographic areas.

Please note: This funding was available only to researchers currently funded through NIH. It is anticipated that a wider Inter-Agency Request for Applications will be released in FY2011. Additional information forthcoming.
