Marking International Women’s Day, the Southern Nation Nationalities People’s Regional State (SNNPR) and the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) organized a half-day public event in Hawassa aimed at empowering women to improve family health.
More than 4,000 people participated in the event which featured entertaining and educational public theater focusing on maternal and child health and access to health, domestic violence and prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV (PMTCT) services.
