On March 28, 2011, Stephen G. McFarland, U.S. Ambassador to Guatemala, donated antiretroviral medications at a joint event organized by the Guatemalan Ministry of Health. The donation, purchased through the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), will help more than 9,400 patients who urgently need medicine during a critical shortage.
