Ambassador Deborah L. Birx, M.D. delivered an inspiring presentation at the joint HIV Prevention Trials Network-International Maternal Pediatric Adolescent AIDS Clinical Trials Network (HPTN-IMPAACT ) Annual Meeting on June 19, 2014. In her remarks about the future of PEPFAR, the Ambassador underscored the importance of maintaining focus and momentum to ensure that the collective effort to control the epidemic is successful and sustainable. The HPTN-IMPAACT Annual Meeting convenes an estimated 700 people dedicated to preventing HIV transmission and decreasing HIV-related mortality and morbidity among infants, children, adolescents, and pregnant/postpartum women. PEPFAR provides critical support for the internationally-focused clinical studies of HPTN and IMPAACT. U.S. Government interagency website managed by the Office of U.S. Global AIDS Coordinator
